2011 ...already!

We're still ashore, and suddenly it's 2011. January is Boat Show Month, and that's sure to focus our attention on everything nautical. Brochures from the show will soon join the growing collection of boating magazines that already cover a few tabletops. The list of boat projects is lengthening and we're jotting down cruising notes and reviewing past logs. The boatyard is already working on a project for Rhapsody. There is always something to do aboard, and Rhapsody’s 2011 Alaska Cruise is just a few short months away.

I'm sure the boat is lonesome, comfortable and safe in her winter moorage but still lonesome. I know I/we miss being aboard.

The months since my last 2010 post have been full of non-nautical activities. November’s big event was my knee replacement. December was full of exercise and physical therapy for me while RL officially took on “butler” duties (a fulltime job during both months).

But now it’s January and we have a split focus as we
  • enjoy being in Seattle,
  • plan a fly/drive trip to the southwest,
  • and still hope to spend some time on the boat soon.
